Description Vitezslav Humpa 2013-12-03 09:11:17 UTC
Description of problem:
When creating or deleting an item, while the change is done and can be registered in i.e. classic mode 'Applications' menu, alacarte needs to be restarted to have an item appear/disappear in its list.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
alacarte-3.7.90-1.el7.noarch

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start alacarte
2. Go to Other group, add a new menu item
3. File in any name and command confirm
4. See that the menu item appears and system menu but can't be seen in alacarte
5. Restart alacarte, the item is there

I can't reproduce this. The only thing I can reproduce is that alacarte allows you to create an invalid .desktop file (e.g. it has an invalid file in the Exec line), but it never shows up even after a restart.

In alacarte-3.7.90-7.el7.noarch I'm not able to reproduce it neither. If I add/delete something (menu, menu item), it appears in alacarte and gnome-shell immediately. Vita, feel free to open it, if you still see the issue, I'm closing it.
