Document in acroread 9 for Linux

Description of problem:
When viewing PDF docs in acrobat (acroread), pages which contain images are rendered differently to pages which contain no images.
The text on the pages with images is in bold and is pixelated.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
doc-Installation_Guide

This applies to all redhat manuals. As a specific example,
https://access.redhat.com/site/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/6/pdf/Installation_Guide/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux-6-Installation_Guide-en-US.pdf

Compare page 17 & 18.

How reproducible:
Every time. Acrobat on Linux & windows has the same problem.
evince seems to display the document well.

Expected results:
All text in the same font should render the same.

See screenshots attached.

Comment 4 Petr Bokoc 2014-01-10 13:18:24 UTC
That's not really an issue with the Installation Guide itself, but rather our publishing software. I'm changing the component to Publican.

Comment 5 Jeff Fearn 🐞 2014-02-28 01:50:15 UTC
It appears that the SVG is affecting how acroread renders the page. Might be related to transparency or anti-aliasing or hinting.

Have contacted GFX guru for input.

Comment 9 Jeff Fearn 🐞 2014-03-11 00:04:51 UTC
Upgrading to wkhtmltopdf 0.12 resolves this issue.

To ssh://git.fedorahosted.org/git/publican.git
   50fff7b..64a5160  devel -> devel

Comment 10 Jeff Fearn 🐞 2014-05-05 06:03:27 UTC
A fix for this shipped in Publican 4.1.0.
