Description Dominic Cleal 2013-12-06 14:12:07 UTC
Description of problem:
For 6.0.2, we didn't support multiple Puppet repos in a content view as the module names might well clash and no method to resolve conflicts had been implemented. CVs are therefore restricted to a single Puppet repo. Pulp though can now pick up and fully report these conflicts if they do occur.

A method to specify precedence of repos should be implemented so multiple Puppet repos and then be supported.

Ideas:
 - allow weight/priority per repo (see yum priorities)
 - allow override of individual modules to always come from repo X

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. create content view definition
2. try to attach multiple Puppet repos (e.g. one synced, one custom)
3.

Actual results:
Only possible to select one

Expected results:
Select multiple with a conflict resolution strategy

Since this issue was entered in Red Hat Bugzilla, the release flag has been
set to ? to ensure that it is properly evaluated for this release.

This is solved by the re-design of the Content Views in upstream. You now can pick puppet modules from the entire set of ones that are available in the environment and aren't tied to a 1:1 relationship of the puppet repo.

As per comment3... the new layout allows to select puppet modules from diff puppet repos. Please see the attached screenshot which depicts puppet module of cron from two diff repos.
