After reporting this bug fedore proposed me to perform some upgrades. With the new NetworkManager (version 0.9.9.0-20.git20131003.fc20) the problem still persists. This message is a reminder that Fedora 20 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 20. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '20'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. The same problem arises in the Fedora 25 (x86_64-25-1.3) Workstation and found in Cinnamom, KDE, Security. On my HP probook 4540s the HP hs2350 HSPA+ Mobile Broadband Modem displayed is detected and managed as Ethernet device, the real Ethernet Controller (RTL8111/8168/8411) is not able to connect at cable. |
Created attachment 833774 [details] /var/log/messages Description of problem: My laptop has an integrated broadband modem, in fedora 19 it was correctly recognized as UMTS modem and available under network manager, now after a clean installation of Fedora 20 it is recognized as USB Ethernet and cannot be used. Additional info: I've attached the relevant part of /var/log/messages during NetworkManger start
