I might as well point out that the table just above that -- "Command line utilities" -- also seems incomplete. For instance, there is no mention of the "passwd" command while, oddly, the less commonly used "gpasswd" command is mentioned. There is also no mention of "chage", and probably others. Might as well keep going: Table 3.3, "groupadd command line options", is also incomplete in the sense that, to be consistent with other options, "-g" should be accompanied by its long form "--gid", and "-r" with "--system". Thank you very much for taking the time to report this issue. Jana, could you please take a look at this bug? Thank you Robert for pointing this out! I do not believe "Table 3.2. useradd command line options" should list all available options, so I've updated the text to make sure the user is, firstly, aware of the fact the table is incomplete and, secondly, knows where to look for the complete list. The updated text says the following: "The list of options is not complete as it contains most frequently used choices only. For the whole list of options, see the useradd man page." Concerning "Table 3.1. Command line utilities for managing users and groups", I have updated the relevant text with a similar note. In addition, the passwd utility has been added to the table. Great point! The "-g" and "-r" options have been accompanied by their long forms in "Table 3.3. groupadd command line options" so that the table is complete and the style preserved throughout the table. Cheers, Jana |
