This release improves deployment adaptability by now allowing you to change the hostname used in the Domain Remapping feature (via cname_lookup). In doing so, CDN links can persist through changes in either hosting structure or providers.
With this, you can now freely use the CNAME feature of DNS in the presence of domain_remap middleware.

I maintain that answers in comment #3 and comment #5 were sufficient to test. The user-visible change is ability to access the data using a different hostname. That is what the sample curl commands do in comment #5. Unless we understand the use case for this RFE and how a user will use this feature (curl is not a valid way of testing it), we cannot test this feature. Since the problem described in this bug report should be resolved in a recent advisory, it has been closed with a resolution of ERRATA.
