Description abyss.7 2013-12-13 05:26:06 UTC
Created attachment 836143 [details]
Group is unfolded, but the arrow indicates it is folded.

Description of problem:
I have a jabber account. In the Empathy window with contacts all groups are always unfolded. When I click on the group name, only the little arrow on the left of the group's name changes it's state, like the group is folded, but nothing really happens.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
3.10.2

How reproducible:
Always

I can confirm this is also true for me, but only since I upgraded to Fedora 20. On another machine I did fresh install of Fedora 20 it is the same.

I have found an interesting work around that is quite the pain to do with many groups but it does work.

Click the arrow on every group, make it show collapsed. The contacts will still show expanded on all, but the arrow should be collapsed (pointing at group name).

Now in status drop down select "Offline" wait for contacts to disappear, then select "Online" and when contacts appear, the groups are now collapsed!

It takes the same process to open a group. To make matters worse, when you close empathy's main contact window and reopen, the contact list is all collapsed again and all arrows are expanded. I have to go through the WHOLE process again to collapse my less used groups. For me this is rough because I use empathy at work for Enterprise jabber host with groups for every dept/team. Something like 20-30 groups...

oops typo...

"To make matters worse, when you close empathy's main contact window and reopen, the contact list is all _expanded_ again"
