Looks like there is problem with mounting due to authentication, because this works great for me:

GVFS_DEBUG=1 /usr/libexec/gvfsd-archive file=http://phs.googlecode.com/files/Download%20File%20Test.zip

However it causes segfault when mount fails due to the bug, which it will be fixed by hopefully:

Another user experienced a similar problem:
