Description Michael Boisvert 2013-12-18 17:47:08 UTC
Description of problem: When creating a new archive via the menu, selecting Add Files and choosing a file returns "An error occurred while loading the archive."

How reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Archive Manager
2. Press the New button, type a file name and press Create.
3. Press "Add Files" choose a file, and click "Add"

Actual results: "An error occurred while loading the archive."

Expected results: The file is added to the archive.

Additional info: Dragging a file into the archive manager adds the file correctly.

Comment 2 David King 2014-03-20 09:57:11 UTC
I cannot reproduce this bug with file-roller-3.8.3-3.el7.x86_64; the file is successfully added to the archive. There have been no changes in file-roller since the bug was reported, other than mass rebuilds. Can you confirm that the bug still exists for you?

I can still reproduce the issue.

Comment 4 RHEL Program Management 2014-03-28 05:48:07 UTC
This request was not resolved in time for the current release.
Red Hat invites you to ask your support representative to
propose this request, if still desired, for consideration in
the next release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Comment 6 Vitezslav Humpa 2015-05-12 13:49:52 UTC
The selection gets done by checking out the checkboxes next to files in the "Add Files" dialog. Thus when only selecting a file and not checking the checkbox, no files got added as the error message stated. Issue was really that the 'Add' button should have been greyed out without any files checked in.

This is the case now with the file-roller-3.14.2-1.el7.x86_64 within the GNOME 3.14 rebased code, so the issue has been fixed.

Comment 8 Vitezslav Humpa 2015-09-01 10:10:02 UTC
Retested for the issue on official build of file-roller-3.14.2-5.el7 on all arches. Verified.
