Description Robert McSwain 2013-12-18 18:29:52 UTC
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #1044644 +++

Description of problem:
Gnome Power Management Activates Too Early with the following settings:
Gnome -> System -> Preferences -> Power Management -> Put display to sleep when inactive for: to 30 minutes. Also with the settings of 1 hour as well as set to never.
In both cases the monitor darkens (suspends, not sleeps) after less than 15 minutes.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
gnome-power-manager-2.28.3-7.el6_4.x86_64

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
Gnome -> System -> Preferences -> Power Management -> Put display to sleep when inactive for: to 30 minutes and observe behavior.

Actual results:
The monitor suspends after 15 minutes.

Expected results:
The monitor sleeps instead of suspends at the specified time

What hardware is this? Is the monitor perhaps blanking on its own? Maybe turning off the "power saving" feature of the panel might help. Thanks.

I've asked the customer to confirm if he's still having this issue and if so with what version of GNOME and which hardware.
