Yeah, it's an error. The display engine is angry about something or other. You might be able to get a better log which will at least give me some basic info on the GPU you have by booting with "nouveau.modeset=2" in your kernel options. It's worrying that "nomodeset" doesn't work though, nouveau isn't involved at all in this situation, so there might be deeper problems. Created attachment 852051 [details]
dmesg output for kernel-3.12.7-200.fc19.x86_64.debug #1 SMP with nouveau.modeset=2
I have tried what you suggested with working FC19 system. I booted in single, and then typed "exit". The part after the exit command starts with
"[ 333.732089] systemd-readahead[490]: Bumped block_nr parameter of 8:0 to 20480. This is a temporary hack and should be removed one day."
When I tried with Fedora-Live-Jam-KDE-x86_64-rawhide-20140117.iso, I got a traceback and the system hung there. I'd need to send a screen photo to retrieve that. I'd rather try a new copy of the spin before doing that.
In Comment 2, I meant Fedora-Live-Jam-KDE-x86_64-rawhide-20140116.iso . Perhaps bug 1055105 is related. This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 22 development cycle. Changing version to '22'. More information and reason for this action is here: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_Program_Management/HouseKeeping/Fedora22 Fedora 22 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2016-07-19. Fedora 22 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed. |
