menu-show-recent isn't a cinnamon schema which means you have installed an unsupported applet, extension or docklet.

I have automatically uploded through abrt wherein this bug was mentioned.
On 26th November, 2014, i updated and on using general option in Cinnamon system Settings, it happens. (It simply closes with abert error.)

I have installed gnome/cinnamon/mate desktop. I have opted to change desktop backgrounds in gome by selecting a xml file in gnome-tweak-tool. Cinnamon does not allow it. After when i changes from gnome to cinnmon, this change of desktop background persisited to my enjoyment. It looks like, this option of mine to change backgrounds in gnome-tweak-tool breaks cinnamon. There is no ther ill effects i have noticed.

I've fixed the settings crash in cinnamon-2.4.4-2.fc20

$ cinnamon-settings general

The latest update of Cinnamon made ​​to be compatible with the effects lost in the previous version ran fine, plus compatibility with MEGASync before automatically opened and now does not open or choosing commands from the menu was lost , only open if it is reinstalled and the computer turns off no longer opens again. There are some flaws in the latest update.
