Description of problem:
When a url is given for the installation repo the updates option is greyed out with the option selected, i.e. "Don't install the latest available software updates."
The url was set using the inst.repo kernel parameter

When you manually set a URL we have no way to tell if there is an associated updates repo or not so the checkbox only makes sense when using the default mirrors.

Well now, I am sure you have heard this before, but, the old anaconda never had a problem with it.

That url is a mirror, so there is most likely going to be an updates repo. 

There is nothing to stop anaconda checking that it is a mirror and checking that the updates repo is present.

Why then this checkbox cannot be unchecked even with http://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/mirrorlist?repo=fedora-20&arch=i386 as source and checking "This URL refers to mirror list"?

Yes, and never had this problem with old anaconda too.

Because there is no way to detect an associated updates repo.

If you want to also install updates you can add it as an additional repo.
