Description Marek Goldmann 2014-01-15 10:08:02 UTC
Description of problem:

With the latest changes to netty package - upgrade from version 3 to 4 in Rawhide, hadoop package doesn't build and needs to be adjusted to use the version 4.

If you encounter issues with upgrading the package to use netty version 4 or you think it does involve too much effort - please let me know and we'll think about a netty 3 compat package.

Comment 1 Marek Goldmann 2014-01-15 12:21:56 UTC
I was looking at a patch, but it seems it's a lot of effort to make it happen. I'll introduce a netty3 compat package for Rawhide.

Comment 2 Robert Rati 2014-01-15 15:45:18 UTC
What version of netty 3.x will you make the netty3 compat package? The version in F20 (3.6) would be ideal.

Comment 3 Marek Goldmann 2014-01-16 09:24:59 UTC
Yes, the latest version available in F20 will be used.

Comment 4 Marek Goldmann 2014-01-16 15:26:17 UTC
The netty3 compat package is now available in Rawhide.

Comment 5 Robert Rati 2014-01-24 23:08:54 UTC
Fixed in hadoop-2.2.0-4
