Description info@kobaltwit.be 2014-01-27 09:24:15 UTC
Description of problem:
GnuCash requires dconf to store its preferences.

In a gnome desktop environment, dconf is installed as dependency of gnome-session. However in a pure kde environment this is not the case and preferences are not saved when gnucash is shut down and restarted.

This can be fixed by making dconf a runtime dependency of gnucash.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
2.6.0

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start gnucash on a system that doesn't have dconf installed
2. Notice that tip of the day will be displayed
3. Uncheck "Show tips on startup
4. Restart gnucash

Actual results:
Tips are displayed again, because the preference wasn't saved.

Expected results:
Tips should not be displayed again.

Additional info:
This issue was discovered on the gnucash mailing list when a user was using gnucash on a Fedora 20 system that only had kde installed.
