I'm sorry, but we don't accept users package the existing packages. Hello. Help always appropriated. But you do not sponsored to be package maintainer, so unfortunately you can't co-maintain it. To became package maintainer in Fedora you should follow process [1]. Then you could request acls for existing packages too. Meantime I have update package: http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=6507113 [1] https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Join_the_package_collection_maintainers Hi. I really believe in Fedora and I really hope to be able to help Fedora improving itself. I noticed the following things that I think should be addressed to improve the project: 1. You (Hubbitus) provide a link that explains a way to become package managers, affirming is the only way. In the page [0] is possible to find what seems to be a different way to get sponsored. Probably one of the two pages is wrong or not clear (and probably is the one I've seen) and I think it should be fixed. Having opposite information (or interpretation) on some procedures can create more confusion. I would point out that this is not my case at the moment, since I already opened bug #1062942 asking the review of the package "csv" (never been in Fedora). 2. I noticed that you (Hubbitus) committed something different from the patch I sent you and therefore my effort did not show up in GIT. I would like to point out that GIT has special feature for this kind of situation (git commit --author) [1] to be able to give credit to the contributors. Does Fedora has a policy about this? Could be a good thing having a policy about this like Drupal [2] and many other big projects? I hope these things will make the project better. [0] https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_get_sponsored_into_the_packager_group#Become_a_co-maintainer [1] http://git-scm.com/docs/git-commit [2] https://drupal.org/node/1146430 I do not have Sponsor rights to sponsor you. You may try find someone else. And off course I just bump version and update package referring to that issue number as request. I found nothing special in you git "patch" except incorrect 0 release for stable package. I miss something? |
