It seems you were pasting a table to a presentation. Is the crash reproducible somehow?

David, 
my apologies for late reply. Yes, I just tried and the crash is reproducible. It happens when I copy a tabla from a docx document opened in Witer and paste it in Impress. The source document is a report, automatically generated by a software controlling a scientific instrument, so I suspect, it by itself could be faulty, although it does open properly in MS Word 2007.

Cannot reproduce anymore. I presume it has been fixed upstream meanwhile.
