This is fixed with gnome-shell 3.11.90 - although a slightly related issue is that when gnome-shell hits a crash and restarts, the window borders reset to 1x size, not the 2x. Separate issue tho, I will try to debug a little and submit a new issue later. This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 22 development cycle. Changing version to '22'. More information and reason for this action is here: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_Program_Management/HouseKeeping/Fedora22 Fedora 22 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2016-07-19. Fedora 22 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. Created attachment 862534 [details] screenshot of the desktop Description of problem: I'm not totally sure if this is a gnome-shell issue, or exists at the mutter level (or lower, even), but it happened right around when gnome-shell was upgraded to 3.11.5 on my rawhide Macbook Pro with retina box. For the record, gnome-shell had been working great on this HiDPI box. But now it only shows the upper left quadrant of the desktop, it is exactly 1/4 of the area it should be displaying. I've attached a screenshot, not sure what other info is helpful, but I'm happy to try things and report back.
