Description Petr Kremensky 2014-03-03 12:06:48 UTC
Description of problem:
Documentation link on server welcome page is pointing to non-existing location.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
 EAP 6.3.0.DR1

How reproducible:
 Always

Steps to Reproduce:
 1. start out-of-box server (standalone or domain)
 2. go to server welcome page: http://localhost:8080/
 3. click on documentation link

Actual results:
User is redirected to https://access.redhat.com/site/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_JBoss_Enterprise_Application_Platform/ and gets 404 Not Found.

Expected results:
User is redirected to EAP documentation.

Additional info:
We should either change the location of documentation for EAP 6.3, or change the documentation link on welcome page.
Requesting blocker for this one so we don't forget to fix it.

Comment 1 Petr Kremensky 2014-03-05 11:02:13 UTC
@Russel, can you please throw some light into this (reassign if needed)?

DR2 is going to be an alpha release and will be available to customers so this should be fixed.

Thanks.

Comment 4 sgilda 2014-04-15 14:19:44 UTC
This was discussed in the EAP 6.3 triage meeting.

Petr, For ER2. can you change the link to: https://access.redhat.com/site/documentation/JBoss_Enterprise_Application_Platform/

There will be further discussion on how to proceed for GA.

Comment 5 sgilda 2014-04-15 14:20:58 UTC
Petr: Flagging this with Needs Info to make sure you see the comment above.

*** Bug 1086246 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***

Comment 9 Petr Kremensky 2014-04-16 05:52:09 UTC
Since this is a blocker for GA and proposed fix is just a workaround for ER2 build what would be a correct procedure in ER2?
 - close this particular BZ and open a new one as a blocker for GA
 - move this one back to assigned and leave it as a only tracking BZ for the issue in EAP 6.3

Comment 10 Petr Kremensky 2014-04-23 11:14:00 UTC
This was fixed as proposed in comment 4 thus no longer a blocker for beta. However since this is still a GA blocker moving back to assigned. There are some TCK issues on ER2, so it's possible that ER2 won't go out as beta release.

Please do not change this until beta is released.

Comment 11 sgilda 2014-05-20 13:51:04 UTC
Petr, I think beta has been released. Can this bug be updated?

Comment 12 Petr Kremensky 2014-05-21 05:31:47 UTC
That is correct. We can proceed with changes towards GA.

Comment 13 Scott Mumford 2014-05-23 04:06:42 UTC
This link appears to be fixed in the 6.3.0-Beta distribution.

The link from the right side-bar of the Management Console resolves to:
https://access.redhat.com/site/documentation/en-US/JBoss_Enterprise_Application_Platform/

...and the 6.3.0-Beta documentation suite is available there.

Moving to ON_QA for confirmation.

Comment 14 Petr Kremensky 2014-05-23 05:49:27 UTC
Hi Scott,
from comment 3 I understand, that documentation will be moved to https://access.redhat.com/site/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_JBoss_Enterprise_Application_Platform/ by the release of EAP 6.3.0 to follow a new product branding. We agreed to change the link to https://access.redhat.com/site/documentation/en-US/JBoss_Enterprise_Application_Platform/ just for the beta release (see comment 4). Or are there any news according new documentation location I am not aware of?
