Description of problem:

I am unable to toggle wireless on/off, mute/unmute, play/pause using Front operation panel LED keys on my Toshiba Qosmio F60. Currently I need to enable WiFi/Bluetooth from Windows for it to work. Fn+F8 toggle works as soft block/unblock only if I have already enabled WiFi under Windows. Any ideas as how this can be done? The only LED Touch button that works under Debian/Ubuntu/Fedora is the Volume Up/Down button. Touchpad on/off toggle does not work with physical button or Fn+F9 either. Other Fn+ keys work eg., Fn+Esc for mute/unmute, Fn+F1 for lock etc.

These problems seems related to Direct App Launch Button which probably can be solved in Linux by quickstart http://quickstart.sourceforge.net/

How reproducible:
Reproducible on a Toshiba Laptop with Front Operation Panel/Illumination Keys

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Take a Toshiba laptop with Front Operation Panel/Illumination Keys
2. Try to press the buttons.

Actual results:
Eco mode button does not respond at all. Other buttons just respond to pressing by lighting up but no real action takes place

Expected results:
Upon pressing Wireless, WiFi and Bluetooth should be enabled, on pressing Play/Pause music should Play/Pause, on pressing Mute sound should be toggled, etc.

We apologize for the inconvenience.  There is a large number of bugs to go through and several of them have gone stale.  Due to this, we are doing a mass bug update across all of the Fedora 20 kernel bugs.

Fedora 20 has now been rebased to 3.14.4-200.fc20.  Please test this kernel update (or newer) and let us know if you issue has been resolved or if it is still present with the newer kernel.

If you experience different issues, please open a new bug report for those.

The issue is still present. The solution at the below link to enable the front panel buttons by Azael Avalos <coproscefalo> seems to be closer. Tried the 3.15 kernel as well in Ubuntu but did not work on my machine.

If you have moved on to Fedora 21, and are still experiencing this issue, please change the version to Fedora 21.

If you experience different issues, please open a new bug report for those.

This bug is being closed with INSUFFICIENT_DATA as there has not been a response in over 3 weeks. If you are still experiencing this issue, please reopen and attach the relevant data from the latest kernel you are running and any data that might have been requested previously.
