"In Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.5, the makedumpfile utility supports the LZO and snappy compression formats. Using these compression formats instead of the zlib format is quicker, in particular when compressing data with randomized content See https://access.redhat.com/site/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/6/html-single/6.5_Release_Notes/ AFAIK this requires a configuration change, so it may not be too common. That said we already have had one vmcore come in with LZO. retrace-server-1.12-2.el6 has been submitted as an update for Fedora EPEL 6. https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/retrace-server-1.12-2.el6 retrace-server-1.12-2.el6 has been pushed to the Fedora EPEL 6 stable repository. If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report. |
