Setting the root password is optional as long as you configure a user as an administrator. I've been confused by https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_reset_a_root_password which claims that "Setting up a root password is a mandatory part of a Fedora installation" and excessive amount or bugs regarding something not working under root account. It's good to be wrong sometimes :) |
