Description of problem:

I'm trying to reproduce bug #1089674 with my system, and cannot persuade my computer to follow the reporter's repro steps.

I installed qupzilla, went to https://www.youtube.com/html5 and opted into the HTML5 trial. I then followed the reporter's link to https://www.youtube.com/embed/AOUOHh6U67g and clicked play, expecting to either see the same error as the bug reporter (bringing into my package's domain to chase down), or a working video.

Instead, I see animated static, with the text "undefined" overlaid on it, and a "Learn More" link leading to https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/3037019?p=player_error1&rd=1

1. Install qupzilla
2. Go to https://www.youtube.com/html5
3. Opt into the HTML5 player trial
4. Go to https://www.youtube.com/embed/AOUOHh6U67g and click play.

Actual results:

A YouTube error

Expected results:

Either playing video, or the fault reported at https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1089674

Additional info:

If you can spot another way for me to repro the original bug, that's fine - I'm interested in the gstreamer-vaapi failure, not in getting YouTube HTML5 working.

The text of the referenced error message:

If you’re getting a player error message, most of the time, the video should start working again in about 30 minutes. This error can sometimes happen if the uploader is making changes to the video, there’s an issue with your Internet connection speed, or the video is being removed or having other issues.
...

which implies it to be a server-side issue.


The reference to bug #1089674 is interesting, against gstreamer1, because I believe qtwebkit still uses gstreamer-0.10

nevermind, reporter there is using a self-compiled HEAD Qt5 qupzilla build, so not really relevant here.
