Doc Text:
* Previously, in Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 3.3, ISO images uploaded to the ISO domain via the uploader tool would not display under the Images sub-tab of the ISO domain until a new Storage Pool Manager was chosen, or a new hypervisor was added to the environment. A new API action has been added to VDSM that improves how file lists are retrieved. ISO images uploaded to the ISO domain via the uploader tool now appear in the environment a short time after the upload has completed.

Description Jake Hunsaker 2014-04-25 13:42:04 UTC
Description of problem:

Customer has found that when he uploads ISO images to his ISO domain via the uploader tool, the images will not display under the Images tab in the Admin Portal until a new SPM is chosen, or a new hypervisor is added to the environment.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Seen on rhevm-3.3.0 and rhevm-3.3.2

How reproducible:
Always within customer environment, I've not been able to reproduce this locally

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Upload an image via uploader tool
2.
3.

Actual results:

ISO image will not be listed in the Images tab until a new SPM election or a new hypervisor is added

Expected results:

ISO image should be visible immediately

Additional info:

I'm working on getting a fresh log collector from the customer since he upgraded to 3.3.2. From what I saw in the 3.3.0 logs, engine.log did list the ISO in question, but was not displayed in the Images tab until he added another hypervisor to the environment he is building.

Following on this, I tested manually selecting a new SPM and sure enough that also caused a previously non-displayed image to now display in the Images tab.

Tal, IIUC, this should have been handled as part of the fix for bug 1005889. Can you please verify?

Comment 3 Tal Nisan 2014-04-28 14:16:32 UTC
Uploaded an ISO image, refreshed via webadmin without changing the SPM and the image was visible right after the refresh, the fix for bug 1005889 fixed it as we now use a different way of getting the file list

verified on av7,the ISO file appears on ISO domain about 30 seconds after finishing upload
