Description peter 2000-04-20 05:06:21 UTC
With a fresh install of redhat 6.2 on a sharp actius 150 laptop, installing
pcmcia 3.1.13 or 3.1.14 causes problems. After compiling and installing the
the update and then rebooting the reboot proceeds normally until
it attemps to load the pcmcia subsystem. At that point lots of garbage
is continually printed to the screen. Occasionally this consists of
messages about interrupts, but usually it appears to be some kind of
dump that scrolls by forever.

If these updates are applied to a fresh install of Mandrake 7.0-2
everything works fine including the Lucent wavelanIEEE wireless drivers
that were the reason for updating the pcmcia package.

You (most likely) need to turn off PnP in the PCMCIA config...

This problem appears to be resolved. Please reopen if I'm wrong.
