Comment 1 Jens Petersen 2014-05-12 08:37:43 UTC
check-bz-available-URM: Rawhide can updated to alex-3.1.3 according to the current cblrepo data in haskell-sig.git.

It would require rebuilding:
alex

Comment 2 Benjamin 2014-05-28 12:49:21 UTC
I only found this bug # as reference to the alex component. Now, alex-3.1.3-2.fc21 is available in the repos, haskell-platform however still requires alex-3.0.5

Thus, a "yum update" fails like this (sorry for the German localization - I'm doing translations for Gnome)

$ sudo yum update

 Sie können versuchen, mit --skip-broken das Problem zu umgehen.
 Sie könnten Folgendes versuchen: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest

If alex-3.0.5 is installed, using haskell is still possible, however on systems where you want to get it, installing fails:
$ sudo dnf install haskell-platform
Fehler: nothing provides alex = 3.0.5 needed by haskell-platform-2013.2.0.0-36.fc21.x86_64

work-around:
$ sudo yum install haskell-platform --skip-broken

but this only installs the base system (5 out of 116 packages)

Comment 3 Jens Petersen 2014-05-29 01:52:44 UTC
Yes sorry I "accidently" pushed it to Rawhide without thinking about Platform.
(Because 3.0.5 does not build with ghc-7.8 which we're planning for F21.)

What do you want haskell-platform for currently? :)

A few options: (a) I could tweak haskell-platform to allow 3.1.3,
(b) revert rawhide to 3.0.5 for now, (c) do nothing until ghc-7.8. :)

Comment 4 Jens Petersen 2014-05-29 01:55:07 UTC
A simple workaround for you might be just to remove the haskell-platform package
before running yum update.

Comment 5 Benjamin 2014-05-29 05:36:48 UTC
(c) is fine for me, since I've still 3.0.5 installed and can simply ignore the update of alex.

I'm not sure if both versions can be in the repos, then haskell-platform could still be installed in a clean way. Else (b) would make more sense to me - since rebuilding all dependencies (I assume this is (a)) will be more work to do?

Comment 6 Jens Petersen 2014-06-11 01:11:26 UTC
Okay in the end I went for (b) since ghc-7.8 still needs a little
more time to be ready.

Comment 7 Jens Petersen 2014-08-28 09:53:14 UTC
committed

Comment 8 Jens Petersen 2014-09-29 03:27:23 UTC
fhbz: Rawhide can be updated to alex-3.1.3
according to the current cblrepo data in haskell-sig.git
without any other package rebuilds.
