Description Alexandre Oliva 2000-04-21 06:21:49 UTC
Even though Xconfigurator auto-detects the graphical card
DECchip 21040/TGA, present in my AlphaStation, the installer
won't even list this card as an option.

Comment 1 Jay Turner 2000-04-21 10:51:59 UTC
This issue has been forwarded to a developer for further action.

Comment 2 Brock Organ 2000-04-25 20:56:59 UTC
Using a machine in the test lab (text mode NFS install), the install was able to
identify and choose the TGA server ... is that how you tried the install...?

No, I was running the graphical installer over NFS.
lspci gives the same information it did for you.

Comment 4 Jay Turner 2000-05-04 11:28:59 UTC
Am probably going to have to put this one on the back burning. We do not even
have a machine with that card and enough RAM to run the graphical installer here
in the test lab. I find it really weird that the graphical install would come
up, but that you then could not configure the card during Xconfig. Anyway, as a
temporary work-around, I would suggest completing the graphical installer and
then running the TUI Xconfigurator on reboot to finish the configuration of the
graphical card. I am sticking this issue on a developer's plate to have a look
at.

Comment 5 Alexandre Oliva 2000-05-28 10:07:59 UTC
Is there any way to run the X configuration step of the graphical installer on a
running machine? Then, I could try to figure out what's wrong.

Comment 6 Brock Organ 2000-08-31 23:00:53 UTC
I am marking this issue as deferred until our next release ...

Comment 7 Michael Fulbright 2000-09-15 19:40:46 UTC
Brock are we able to test this configuration?

Comment 8 Michael Fulbright 2000-10-02 19:41:30 UTC
Please perform a text mode install and config X that way.
