Looking at the package, it appears eclipse-birt wasn't even shipped in F20. We used to use its graphing api in The Linux Tools Project for charting, but switched to something more lightweight a while ago.

I would say it's a pretty well known project in the Eclipse ecosystem but given that we don't ship anything that uses it, should we consider orphaning it, followed by retiring if no one is interested ?

Comment 4 Alexander Kurtakov 2014-05-09 13:56:13 UTC
I agree. I'll announce on monday that if noone wants it I'll retire it.

Comment 5 Joe Byers 2014-05-09 21:18:45 UTC
I use BIRT.

It does not install correctly now. The perspective does not exist after installing. Even if selected from eclipse website.

The only way in Fedora 20 that I can get BIRT to function is to remove the fedora eclipse packages and install from an eclipse website zip file.

Comment 6 Alexander Kurtakov 2014-05-29 19:39:47 UTC
Birt has been deprecated in rawhide.
