Well, AMD761 chipset, GeForceFX5200, acpi=on, vga=792 (frame buffer), rhgb, KDE. All works properly. It works fine unless the pcmcia card is plugged in during boot... you can plug the card in after boot and evrything is fine... So this hang at splash screen requires 4 things 1. nvidia driver -- not standard driver 2. rhgb enabled 3. acpi=on 4. pcmcia card plugged in during boot and if any of these ingredients are not there then no hang? Does it still happen with a recent kernel? Can you attach the dmesg? No news on this for more than 8 months and 2 fedora core releases, I think we can safely close this bug now. Daniel |

This does not happen with the standard driver and acpi. It does nothappen with the nvidia driver without acpi. Only with the three together. Noerrors are produced from what I can tell or if you can tell me where to look.This is the only error I see in the XFree86 logs:(WW) Open APM failed (/dev/apm_bios) (No such device) Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): rhgb-0.11.2-1 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Append acpi=on to /boot/grub/grub.conf and rhgb 2.Use nvidia driver 3.reboot, login, and watch the system lock up and be totally unresponsive Actual Results: The system froze requiring an unclean shutdown Expected Results: Log in to GNOME as normal Additional info:
