Description Piruthiviraj Natarajan 2014-05-20 07:07:32 UTC
Description: after upgrading to firefox 29.0.1 a crash will occur ( segfault ) if I go on these websites :

1) https://robertsspaceindustries.com/

segfault with this error message in the console :

No permission to use the keyboard API for https://robertsspaceindustries.com

2) http://thp.io/2014/petals/play/

segfault with no error message in the console

Additional info:
* package version(s)
* config and/or log files etc.

Steps to reproduce:

- install firefox 29.0.1
- go to https://robertsspaceindustries.com/ --> a segfault will occur
- go to http://thp.io/2014/petals/play/ --> a segfault will occur

This happens in Arch Linux but they have fixed by compiling firefox with Clang.

I'm unable to reproduce it, Fedora 20 / x86_64. Can you please test in safe mode? ($firefox -safe-mode)

Please also attach a backtrace of the crash (http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Debugging_guidelines_for_Mozilla_products#Application_crash)

Thanks!

Hi.
If I wasn't clear I just want to tell you that I use rawhide X86_64 and if you read through the arch linux bug report you will find that the issue was probably due to new GCC 4.9.

safe-mode still crashes the web page I have linked.
I shall try to attach the backtrace of the crash in the next posts.

Comment 4 Martin Stransky 2014-05-20 14:23:47 UTC
Ahh, okay, I missed the rawhide bit. Please attach the backtrace then.

Hi,

The most unexpected thing has happened. The laptop power plug has failed due to an electrical issue. I shall post the gdb reports when I bring the system back to working.

Please reopen if you have some further info.
