New packages generally don't get included on an upgrade (because it could just as well be that a person removed foo from their previous install and readding it on upgrade would be rude.) You can try adding rhgb to your kernel boot parameters (for the fedora kernel). Ie, in my grub.conf, I have: kernel /vmlinuz-2.4.22-1.2115.nptl ro root=LABEL=/ rhgb |
