Was/is that /run/media/jan/BigExternalDisk/backup filesystem read-only? No, it is not. But might it be that it is not immediately mounted/available/writable when waking up from suspend? So you were in the middle of a backup, suspended and resumed and got this? indeed See also bug #1109563. This message is a reminder that Fedora 20 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 20. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained.
