Description of problem:
I have a venom blackook zero 
specs available here: http://www.mln.com.au/product/?itemID=4845
and have found that selecting shutdown while the AC adapter is connected (and powered) results in the laptop powering off, but after about 2 sec it powers back up. 

The only modification i made to the laptop was to remove the 2.5" HDD and replace it a 2.5" 256GB samsung evo SSD (and update the SSD firmware) 

The rescue image 3.14.2-200.fc20.x86_64 from the live cd works fine
so i assume there's some acpi/power/firmware bug i'm hitting in more recent kernels, but i don't know how to troubleshoot it (but i can follow instructions to gather information for you)

my current work around to shut down is to disconnect AC power, that works on any kernel, which i thiink would point to an acpi issue, but that's only a random guess.

3.14.3-200 or higher (something changed inbetween 3.14.2 and 3.14.3 that my laptop doesn't like).


Note, the laptop isn't rebooting, at least not in the normal sense. rebooting on this laptop doesn't result in a power-off at any point. something is waking it back up, however being fairly new to linux i'm unsure how to diagnose it further.

i don't have 3.14.3 anymore that kernel was automatically removed when 3.14.6 was released (which still doesn't shutdown my laptop correctly)

also contains output of lspci -vvv under both kernels

worked out this was a Wake on Lan bug (don't have anything sending wol packets, but it was waking anyway), had to disable it by editing the bios rom to disable wol (not a user-accessible menu item by default). but it's not a kernel bug, so i'm closing this
