FibreChannel cinder volumes still showed multipath devices on the Compute host after volumes were detached from an instance. As a result, whenever an image was destroyed on the Compute node, the attached volume remained; this could lead to kernel I/O errors.
To address this, the Block Storage service has been updated to ensure that:
* The I/O for each SCSI device gets flushed before a FibreChannel device is removed.
* Whenever a LUN associated with a multipath device is removed, the multipath device is flushed first.
