Description david 2003-11-27 02:54:15 UTC
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET
CLR 1.1.4322)

Description of problem:
Installing Fedora 1 core. Via CD-ROM takes >24 hours. Via Network
from http://download.fedora.redhat.com takes 2-3 hours. Seems
wrong. CD's read fine on other hardware, and other OS's install
rapidly on same hardware. Is this a bug in the CD-rom driver in
install process?

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Boot diskette
2.Choose "install from cdrom"
3.Insert CDRom when asked

Actual Results: Install succeds, but takes >24 hours. CDrom reader
seems to spin up, then down, many times.

Expected Results: Install should have been realistic in time.

Additional info:

Hardware=DELL Workstation 400 MT, with scsi hard drive removed, but a
30 gig ATA drive in place. The rest is as from factory
