Thanks for a bug report. According to the backtrace the evolution itself is not frozen, it reacts to user's input, the problem is that it doesn't close the "Send & Receive Mail" as it should, right? I see in the backtrace that there is nothing EWS specific running in the background, which also agrees the screenshot, with the icon on the right from the EWS account name indicating connection issues.

The console messages show that your password changed on the server, but instead of telling you in UI, they are only printed on the console, which is not enough. As you have this account configured in GNOME Online Accounts, you can change the password only there.

I believe once the above warnings are properly handled in evolution it'll start working correctly again.

There is an upstream bug report for this [1], thus let's move there.
