The first option on the menu should be a Decrypt option. If not, please attach the encrypted file for which the Decrypt menu item does not appear. Created attachment 916526 [details]
File encrypted in Nautilus with right-click
I encrypted this file in Nautilus (using seahorse-nautilus) with right-click.
When I right-click on the encrypted file, there is no option to decrypt.
This file was encrypted with passphrase only (and that passphrase is "test")
When I right click on this file, the first menu item in GNOME nautilus allows me to decrypt the item. Could you send the output of the following: $ xdg-mime query filetype /path/to/file.ext $ xdg-mime query filetype encryption_test.pgp application/pgp-signature I'm experiencing the same problem. Note that my system was initially missing seahorse-nautilus package. Installing that gave me the encrypt/sign option but not the a decrypt option. (Tried logging in and out too). Wondering if my system is missing a required library, or if there is some packaging bug that fails to setup the integration correctly. I'm experiencing the same problem, but on Fedora 21 not 20 as in this bug - version of the package is seahorse-nautilus-3.11.92-3.fc21.x86_64 After installing seahorse-nautilus on F21 and rebooting, the problems seems to be resolved for me. I'm also having the same issues as comment #6 - no option to decrypt in Fedora 21, although encryption works fine and the menu options are present. The MIME type of the file is identical to that reported in comment #4. A reboot did not fix the issue unlike #7. nautilus-3.14.2-1.fc21.x86_64 seahorse-nautilus-3.11.92-3.fc21.x86_64 seahorse-3.14.0-3.fc21.x86_64 I am now running Fedora 21, and the issue has been resolved for me in the update. I've run into this too. Bug 845855 also describes the same problem existing since Fedora 17. The detected filetype for the "non-decryptable" file for me in Nautilus is application/pgp-encrypted. Note: I haven't rebooted yet, but find that to be a weird fix. I installed nautilus-seahorse and restarted gnome shell to add the encrypt option to the right click menu. This message is a reminder that Fedora 20 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 20. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '20'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 20 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. Fedora 20 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2015-06-23. Fedora 20 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed. This still happens on my PC with Fedora 28 Workaround: Execute gio mime application/pgp-encrypted seahorse-pgp-encrypted.desktop |
