Description of problem:

tesseract 3.03-RC1 is available. Both Debian (Jessie) and Ubuntu (Trusty & Utopic) updated to it. 3.03-rc1 comes with various improvements https://code.google.com/p/tesseract-ocr/wiki/ReleaseNotes.

Leptonica needs to be updated to 1.7+.
