Description of problem:
 the thumbnails are deleted at every logoff, ignoring the settings in dconf (180days/512MB).

mate-settings-daemon-1.8.0-2.el7.x86_64

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Generate some thumbnails
2. Verify that they appear in /$HOME/.cache/thumbnails/normal
3. Log out of the session
4. Verify that they are not there anymore

Actual results:
Thumbnails have disappeared

Expected results:
Thumbnails should still be present.

Additional info:
This is the exactly the same behaviour as Bug Number 1048409

I don't see this issue with mate-settings-daemon-1.8.1-1.el7.centos.x86_64.
Can you confirm?

Confirmed.  Issue is no longer present.
