rpm >= 4.12 has such an API but the underlying required changes are enormous, backporting is completely out of the question. The other (theoretical) choice would be rebasing rhel-7 to rpm 4.12 but that's pretty far-fetched too, so this is basically a case of CLOSED -> DEFERRED. As explained in comment #2, this is a no-go for rhel-7. No point keeping open a bug which we cannot help... |
