Description Chris Roberts 2014-08-19 16:16:24 UTC
Description of problem:

remove /var/lib/katello since it does not exist anymore.
also either remove /var/lib/pulp since it will backup all the rpms
or put a note in saying you will need x amount of space available to match the size of the channels/packages synced.

Since this issue was entered in Red Hat Bugzilla, the release flag has been
set to ? to ensure that it is properly evaluated for this release.

Hi Chris,

Thank you for your feedback. I am assigning this to Megan Lewis, one of our Red Hat Satellite writers, will assess if this can make it to GA or if it will have to be deferred to 6.1

Cheers,
Athene

Hi Chris,

Thanks for your feedback. I've removed /var/lib/katello from the list to be backed up.

I did want some more information regarding /var/lib/pulp. With /var/lib/pulp it's not in the list in Step 2 but is discussed as part of the repository backup in Step 3. Step 3 does tell the user that the backup of the repositories will take a lot space. Is this what you meant?

Thanks,
Megan

Hi Megan,

Yes if you could add that please, They will want to do a df -h if they have a specfic mount point for that directory, other wise check on the size and have roughly that much space where they are going to do the backup.

Thanks,

- Chris Roberts
