All that net-snmp-cert needs from net-snmp-config is 'net-snmp-config --snmpconfpath', can't it be in net-snmp-cert? I don't want to have net-snmp-perl dependent on -devel package. What about having net-snmp-cert.in and ./configure adding there list of config directories in the same way as it creates net-snmp-config from net-snmp-config.in? Description of problem: the net-snmp-cert tool in the net-snmp-perl package depends on net-snmp-config (see error below). Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: every time Steps to Reproduce: 1. install net-snmp-perl (without net-snmp-devel) 2. run a command from net-snmp DTLS tutorial wiki page: net-snmp-cert -t tutorial-joecool import \ http://www.net-snmp.org/tutorial/tutorial-5/certificates/tutorial-joecool.crt \ http://www.net-snmp.org/tutorial/tutorial-5/certificates/tutorial-joecool.key Actual results: net-snmp-config not found: please install at /usr/bin/net-snmp-cert line 1417. Expected results: No error Additional info: I am an upstream developer on the net-snmp project, and we'd really like for the net-snmp-config script to be in the base net-snmp package. Our config script does more than simply spit out devel flags. It is also useful for other tools and when debugging user issues.
