It is still the same on Fedora-Live-Workstation-x86_64-22_Beta-3.iso. It works on real hardware (On real hardware the screen in the background of the “enter command” dialog is dimmed, with a bright spot where the dialog appears (does not work when 2 monitors are used, the dialog appears in the centre of one monitor, the bright spot is in the centre of the total screen space of both monitors together). But it does not work in qemu, in qemu, the rest of the screen turns completely black. Fedora 22 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2016-07-19. Fedora 22 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this bug. Created attachment 931781 [details] desktop-background-black-when-usingenter-command-dialog.png I installed Fedora 21 using Fedora-Live-Workstation-x86_64-21-Alpha-TC4.iso into qemu with the qemu command line: ionice -c 3 qemu-kvm -enable-kvm -global qxl.ram_size=1x1024 -m 2048M -smp 4 -drive file=./Fedora-Live-Workstation-x86_64-21-Alpha-TC4.iso.qcow2,index=0,media=disk,cache=unsafe -localtime -serial file:/tmp/qemu-Fedora-Live-Workstation-x86_64-21-Alpha-TC4.iso.qcow2-output.log -name Fedora-Live-Workstation-x86_64-21-Alpha-TC4.iso.qcow2 -cdrom /local/mfabian/iso/f21-Alpha-TC4/Fedora-Live-Workstation-x86_64-21-Alpha-TC4.iso -boot c -spice port=6000,disable-ticketing,streaming-video=off -vga qxl -display vnc=:4 -net nic -net user,hostname=Fedora-Live-Workstation-x86_64-21-Alpha-TC4.iso.qcow2,hostfwd=tcp::5555-:22 -monitor stdio -usb After logging into Gnome, I type Alt+F2 to open the “enter command” dialog. The rest of the screen turns black, only the “enter command” dialog is visible. Not even the Gnome panel is visible anymore. See attached screenshot. Could this be on purpose‽ In Fedora 20, the desktop behind the “enter command” dialog was dimmed down a bit, but still visible.
