Doc Text:
Previously, the glusterpmd service needed to be manually started in the Red Hat Storage node after adding the node to the Red Hat Storage Console. With this fix, the glusterpmd service works as expected. To fix this issue, after updating Red Hat Storage Console and the Red Hat Storage nodes to version 3.0.3, you must 'reinstall' the Red Hat Storage nodes that were previously added to the Red Hat Storage Console.

Description Sahina Bose 2014-09-04 05:55:51 UTC
Description of problem:

When monitoring via Nagios is enabled, the host installation flow should make sure that the glusterpmd service is running on the newly added host. (Similar to the nrpe configuration that takes place on the host)

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
3.0

How reproducible:
Always

Actual results:
Currently, glusterpmd service needs to be started manually on the host. This service monitors the gluster related processes and sends notification to Nagios server.

Expected results:
Service is started automatically.

When host is added to console glusterpmd is started. But when user tries to reboot the system and once the system comes back, user has to manual start it. The reason being chkconfig for glusterpmd is not on.

So, moving this bug back.

Comment 4 RamaKasturi 2014-11-28 07:34:33 UTC
verified and works fine with build rhsc-3.0.3-1.20.el6rhs.noarch.

Tested in the following flows:

1) When a RHS node is added to the console, glusterpmd starts on the node.

2) when a cluster is imported.

3)when a host is reinstalled.

4)persistent with host reboots.

Output from glusterpmd :

glusterpmd (pid 8236) is running...

Output from chkconfig of glusterpmd:

glusterpmd 0:off	1:off	2:on	3:on	4:on	5:on	6:off

Comment 6 Darshan 2014-12-29 05:13:24 UTC
Can you replace "manually restarted" by "manually started". Rest of it looks good.
