*********** MASS BUG UPDATE ************** We apologize for the inconvenience. There is a large number of bugs to go through and several of them have gone stale. Due to this, we are doing a mass bug update across all of the Fedora 20 kernel bugs. Fedora 20 has now been rebased to 3.17.2-200.fc20. Please test this kernel update (or newer) and let us know if you issue has been resolved or if it is still present with the newer kernel. If you have moved on to Fedora 21, and are still experiencing this issue, please change the version to Fedora 21. If you experience different issues, please open a new bug report for those. I've not seen this particular problem recur with later kernels. That's not to say that bluetooth handling is perfect, for example, random droppings and reconnects, but I haven't seen this type of failure in quite a while. Fedora Core 20 Current version 3.17.7-200.fc20.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Dec 17 03:35:33 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Whenever I attempt to activate the bluetooth dongle (not mouse, A2DP), I get the following kernel traces : ------------[ cut here ]------------ WARNING: CPU: 0 PID: 3832 at net/bluetooth/hci_conn.c:298 hci_conn_timeout+0x75/0x330 [bluetooth]() Modules linked in: rfcomm btusb nls_utf8 udf snd_seq_dummy snd_hrtimer tcp_lp fuse bnep bluetooth ip6t_rpfilter cfg80211 rfkill ip6t_REJECT xt_conntrack ebtable_nat ebtable_broute bridge stp llc ebtable_filter ebtables ip6table_nat nf_conntrack_ipv6 nf_defrag_ipv6 nf_nat_ipv6 ip6table_mangle ip6table_security ip6table_raw ip6table_filter ip6_tables iptable_nat nf_conntrack_ipv4 nf_defrag_ipv4 nf_nat_ipv4 nf_nat nf_conntrack iptable_mangle iptable_security iptable_raw coretemp kvm_intel kvm forcedeth nv_tco shpchp serio_raw snd_usb_audio snd_usbmidi_lib snd_hwdep snd_rawmidi snd_seq snd_seq_device snd_pcm microcode snd_timer snd soundcore i2c_nforce2 asus_atk0110 nfsd auth_rpcgss nfs_acl lockd sunrpc uas usb_storage ata_generic pata_acpi nouveau video mxm_wmi wmi i2c_algo_bit drm_kms_helper ttm firewire_ohci drm firewire_core pata_amd crc_itu_t sata_nv CPU: 0 PID: 3832 Comm: kworker/u9:1 Tainted: G W 3.17.7-200.fc20.x86_64 #1 Hardware name: System manufacturer System Product Name/P5N32-E SLI PLUS, BIOS ASUS P5N32-E SLI PLUS ACPI BIOS Revision 1502 11/17/2009 Workqueue: hci0 hci_conn_timeout [bluetooth] 0000000000000000 000000004e582bad ffff88003bf5fd88 ffffffff8172758c 0000000000000000 ffff88003bf5fdc0 ffffffff81092e7d ffff8800afa3f8c8 00000000ffffffff ffff8800afa3f800 ffff8800bc060f00 0000000000000120 Call Trace: [<ffffffff8172758c>] dump_stack+0x45/0x56 [<ffffffff81092e7d>] warn_slowpath_common+0x7d/0xa0 [<ffffffff81092faa>] warn_slowpath_null+0x1a/0x20 [<ffffffffa05e1f25>] hci_conn_timeout+0x75/0x330 [bluetooth] [<ffffffff8172a48b>] ? __schedule+0x2eb/0x7d0 [<ffffffff810aadc9>] process_one_work+0x149/0x3d0 [<ffffffff810ab44b>] worker_thread+0x11b/0x490 [<ffffffff810ab330>] ? rescuer_thread+0x2e0/0x2e0 [<ffffffff810b04a8>] kthread+0xd8/0xf0 [<ffffffff810b03d0>] ? kthread_create_on_node+0x190/0x190 [<ffffffff8172ebbc>] ret_from_fork+0x7c/0xb0 [<ffffffff810b03d0>] ? kthread_create_on_node+0x190/0x190 ---[ end trace 68cd89a66e63c566 ]--- [327885.364309] ------------[ cut here ]------------ [327885.364333] WARNING: CPU: 2 PID: 776 at net/bluetooth/hci_conn.c:298 hci_conn_timeout+0x75/0x330 [bluetooth]() [327885.364334] Modules linked in: nfnetlink_queue nfnetlink_log nfnetlink hidp rndis_host cdc_ether usbnet mii ipt_MASQUERADE nf_nat_h323 nf_conntrack_h323 nf_nat_pptp nf_nat_proto_gre nf_conntrack_pptp nf_conntrack_proto_gre nf_nat_tftp nf_conntrack_tftp nf_nat_sip nf_conntrack_sip nf_nat_irc nf_conntrack_irc nf_nat_ftp nf_conntrack_ftp nf_conntrack_netbios_ns nf_conntrack_broadcast rfcomm ip6t_rpfilter ip6t_REJECT xt_conntrack ppdev parport_pc parport ebtable_nat fuse ebtable_broute bridge stp llc ebtable_filter ebtables ip6table_nat nf_conntrack_ipv6 nf_defrag_ipv6 nf_nat_ipv6 vmw_vsock_vmci_transport vsock ip6table_mangle ip6table_security ip6table_raw ip6table_filter ip6_tables iptable_nat nf_conntrack_ipv4 nf_defrag_ipv4 nf_nat_ipv4 nf_nat vmw_vmci nf_conntrack iptable_mangle iptable_security [327885.364358] iptable_raw bnep vfat fat btusb bluetooth uas usb_storage hid_appleir bcm5974 snd_usb_audio snd_usbmidi_lib joydev snd_rawmidi snd_hda_codec_hdmi snd_hda_codec_cirrus snd_hda_codec_generic iTCO_wdt iTCO_vendor_support applesmc input_polldev uvcvideo videobuf2_vmalloc videobuf2_memops videobuf2_core v4l2_common videodev media intel_rapl x86_pkg_temp_thermal coretemp kvm_intel kvm crct10dif_pclmul crc32_pclmul crc32c_intel ghash_clmulni_intel snd_hda_intel snd_hda_controller snd_hda_codec snd_hwdep snd_seq snd_seq_device microcode snd_pcm sdhci_pci cfg80211 i915 i2c_i801 rfkill snd_timer sdhci lpc_ich mfd_core mmc_core i2c_algo_bit tg3 drm_kms_helper ptp snd pps_core soundcore drm mei_me mei shpchp sbs sbshc apple_gmux video apple_bl binfmt_misc nfsd auth_rpcgss nfs_acl lockd sunrpc firewire_ohci [327885.364395] firewire_core crc_itu_t [last unloaded: wl] [327885.364399] CPU: 2 PID: 776 Comm: kworker/u17:0 Tainted: P W OE 3.17.8-200.fc20.x86_64 #1 [327885.364400] Hardware name: Apple Inc. I try to keep my kernel always updated. The error reported by me at 2015-02-10 was running on a 3.17.8-200.fc20 kernel. I have later upgraded to 3.18.5-101.fc20 and 3.18.7-100.fc20. Indeed, I did not have the same bug again, since. Okay, closing this one out then. Thanks for the reply! |
