Description of problem:
I have different email accounts on different web servers. Since about 2 days all except one stopped sending emails (recieving works fine). I did not change any notification and I doubt that all 3 affected providers updated their email servers the same day.

evolution 3.12.7, possibly 3.12.6 too

Steps to Reproduce:
1. compose mail
2. send mail

Actual results:
fails in most if not all cases for some providers.

Additional info:
This bug may or may not be happening since updating evolution from 3.12.6 to 3.12.7 (happened 2 days ago which was about the time where it began). Other packages I updated in this time (which could be related to Evolution/GNOME):

Downgrading to 3.12.6 does not fix this problem.

Config file changes:
Updating to evolution 3.12.7 seems to have changed settings in ~/.config/evolution/sources/[ID]@[HOSTNAME].source : In one (of 3) servers I cannot connect to any more the line
ProxyUid=system-proxy
was added to the .source file.

Recieving mails still works on those mail servers (IMAP).
All accounts are connected via SMTP+IMAP.
I have some error messages from evolution's error dialogs. To anonymize them I changed some of the output:
[TARGET] is the email address I wand to send my mail to.
[myIP] is my own IP address
[myAddress] is my email address
[mailserverhostname] is the hostname of the mail server I connected to.

1. FAU mail server (german university, see https://www.rrze.fau.de/dienste/e-mail/ for configuration details)

The reported error was "RCPT TO <[TARGET]> gescheitert:<unknown[[myIP]]>: Client host rejected: Access denied. Please authenticate to send email. See https://www.helpdesk.rrze.uni-erlangen.de/otrs/public.pl?ItemID=1213".

2. a mail server hosted at hetzner (german provider/ISP)

The reported error was "RCPT TO <[TARGET]> gescheitert:<[myIP]>: Client host rejected: Access denied".

3. a mail server hosted at goneo.de (german provider/ISP)

The reported error was "RCPT TO <[TARGET]> gescheitert:<[myAddress]>: Sender address rejected: not logged in".

The only web server that works now along the 4 tested is web.de (united internet AG, german provider/ISP).


evolution logs this to stdout/stderr (last line is where sending failed):
