Hello.
Thank you for the bugreport.
Please provide file for reproduce that.

Comment 13 Ivan Virgili 2014-10-26 22:05:39 UTC
Hi, but I've uploaded everything I've got.
I think I got the error message after uninstalling Darktable, but I hadn't opened any image file.

Comment 14 Pavel Alexeev 2014-10-27 09:48:50 UTC
I assume it come from gsf-office-thumbnailer. So reassigning to its maintainer. Could you please provide more details what it do and what /tmp/gsf-thumbnailer-YQMEOX file is in that example?

Comment 15 Caolan McNamara 2014-10-28 10:02:06 UTC
While the input is from gsf-thumbnailer, the actual crashing application is definitely imagemagick's convert

Comment 16 Pavel Alexeev 2014-10-28 18:40:31 UTC
Sure. No doubt. But could you please say what /tmp/gsf-thumbnailer-YQMEOX is in gsf-thumbnailer?

Comment 17 Milan Bouchet-Valat 2015-01-30 14:18:17 UTC
I've just experienced the same crash. The problem is, the file in question no longer existed when I tried to access it. I strongly suspect it was a thumbnail generated by gsf-office-thumbnailer from a .doc file, since I had modified no other file when the crash occurred. But I'm not able to extract a thumbnail from it to pass it to 'convert':
$ gsf-office-thumbnailer -i myfile.doc -o output.png -s 256
error: The metadata does not have a thumbnail property

So maybe gsf-office-thumbnailer is passing `convert` an empty file, or a corrupt file of some sort when it's not able to create a thumbnail?

Comment 18 Pavel Alexeev 2015-03-09 19:34:08 UTC
I also have tend it is just outer misuse. Please provide details when and how you call convert. How it may be reproduced?

Comment 21 Fedora End Of Life 2015-11-04 10:46:24 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 21 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 21. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version'
of '21'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 21 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 22 Fedora End Of Life 2015-12-02 04:31:13 UTC
Fedora 21 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2015-12-01. Fedora 21 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you
are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this
bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
