Open example file by menu File --> Open.. This method works, but you can't open file neither from command line, nor from filemanager (open with...). Note that running mmass.py directly $ /usr/lib64/mMass/mmass.py /usr/share/mMass/examples/Cryptophycin-1.msd works OK.
