It's been a long time since 2.11 has been locked as surefire plugin due to instability of CI runs.
Ive talked with QE(pkremens) and they agreed to give it a go, given only minimal( known) changes to conf are required.

parent 12 and 14 ( 11 seems to be missing from tag list - EAP 6.3.z ) have surefire set to 2.16.

that upgrades surefire by upgrading jboss-parent

Closing this as verified as the works on dev side are done, however bits shipped to us contains jboss-parent 14 (surefire version 2.16). See BZ1160673.
