If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed. Hello, Despite this bug being very old, I may confirm that the Huawei 3G modem (USB): #lsusb Bus 003 Device 007: ID 12d1:15ca Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. E3131 3G/UMTS/HSPA+ Modem (Mass Storage Mode) it is still seen in Fedora 24 as a Mass Storage device and not as a modem. No idea how to put it in Modem Mode (if possible). Best regards, Răzvan lets try usb_modeswitch_data package and see if they can help you out... This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 25 development cycle. Changing version to '25'. I'm wondering if you could retest with the updated packages from here: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2016-494a721a73 Thank you, Lubo Hello, For the moment, I don't own the modem described in this bug (ID 12d1:15ca), but I've tested with a similar one (ID 12d1:1506) and I may confirm that (as of October 4th, 2016) is still doesn't work. usb_modeswitch is the official one from Fedora 24 + updates usb_modeswitch-2.4.0-4.fc24.x86_64 The two modems are both marketed under the name "Huawei E313H" and they are similar in appearance, but probably not identical (since the have different IDs). So I've opened a separate bug for ID 12d1:1506 Thank you, Răzvan Sorry for the typo above: it's "Huawei E3131H" for both. Răzvan FYI, pictures: This is ID 12d1:15ca http://www.gadget.ro/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/Digi-Mobil-stick-USB.jpg and this is ID 12d1:1506 https://media2.lajumate.ro/media/i/new_details/5/256/2565165_stick-modem-3g-usb-huawei-e3131-codat-rcs-rds-digimobil_1.jpg both markedted by RCS&RDS Romania under their "Digi" brand, but with model "Huawei E313H" written on the package. Răzvan This message is a reminder that Fedora 25 is nearing its end of life. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 25. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '25'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 25 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete. Fedora 25 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2017-12-12. Fedora 25 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed. |
